“Buddha” means “one who is awake.”

The Buddha who lived 2,600 years ago was not a god.

He was an ordinary person, named Siddhartha Gautama, whose profound insights inspired the world.

Buddha is not a name, but a title.

It is a Sanskrit word that means “a person who is awake.”

What a buddha is awake to is the true nature of reality.

The traditional story begins with Siddhartha Gautama’s birth in Lumbini, Nepal, in about 567 BCE.

He was the son of a king, raised in sheltered opulence.

He married and had a son.

Prince Siddhartha was twenty-nine years old when his life changed.

In carriage rides outside his palaces he first saw a sick person, then an old man, then a corpse.

This shook him to the core of his being; he realized that his privileged status would not protect him from sickness, old age, and death.

When he saw a spiritual seeker — a mendicant “holy man” ― the urge to seek peace of mind arose in him.

“He sat in meditation beneath “the Bodhi tree” until he realized enlightenment. From that time on, he would be known as the Buddha.

The prince renounced his worldly life and began a spiritual quest.

He sought teachers and punished his body with ascetic practices such as extreme, prolonged fasts.

It was believed that punishing the body was the way to elevate the mind and that the door to wisdom was found at the edge of death.

However, after six years of this, the prince felt only frustration.

Eventually, he realized that the path to peace was through mental discipline.

At Bodh Gaya, in the modern Indian state of Bihar, he sat in meditation beneath a ficus tree, “the Bodhi tree,” until he awakened, or realized enlightenment.

From that time on, he would be known as the Buddha.

Simply put, Buddhism teaches that we all live in a fog of illusions created by mistaken perceptions and “impurities” — hate, greed, ignorance.

A buddha is one who is freed from the fog.

It is said that when a buddha dies he or she is not reborn but passes into the peace of Nirvana, which is not a “heaven” but a transformed state of existence.

Most of the time, when someone says the Buddha, it’s in reference to the historical person who founded Buddhism.

This was a man originally named Siddhartha Gautama who lived in what is now northern India and Nepal about twenty-five centuries ago.

He spent the rest of his life teaching people how to realize enlightenment for themselves.

He gave his first sermon in modern-day Sarnath, near Benares, and then walked from village to village, attracting disciples along the way.

He founded the original order of Buddhist nuns and monks, many of whom became great teachers also.

He died in Kushinagar, located in what is now the state of Uttar Pradesh in northern India, about 483 BCE.

The traditional story of the Buddha’s life may not be factually accurate; we have no way to know for certain.

Historians today generally agree there was a historical Buddha, and that he lived sometime in the 4th through 6th centuries BCE, give or take.

It’s believed that at least some of the sermons and monastic rules recorded in the oldest scriptures are his words, or something close to his words, but that’s as far as most historical scholars will go.

We blend herbs and resins together and burn them so that through our sense of smell, the inner consciousness will be aroused and stimulated by the actual objective scent they provide.

For many years, mystics around the world have used herbs, flowers, resins, and oils as main ingredients when they created their own incense for mystical purposes.

Herb perfumes and incenses have a symbolic meaning and a practical use in assisting us to attain a mystical state of consciousness.

In using herb incenses and perfumes in this manner, we are practicing occult laws and methods having certain psychological and physiological principles as their basis.

Herb incense and perfume have a definitive purpose in our mystical lives the same as color and music vibrations do when combined in a constructive way.

Hypericum (St. John’s Wort) for example, is very positive in the state of consciousness it induces through its olfactory vibrations, making it a physically exhilarating herb.

Dittany, on the other hand, is negative in its vibrations, only meaning its olfactory vibrations tend to quiet, soothe, and calm us.

We blend our resins, woods, and herb incenses to produce certain mystical states of consciousness.

Each ingredient has a unique quality and we aromatically blend them for specific psychological and physiological principles and to assist you in reaching your goals and desired state of conscious awareness.

**When burning, keep the incense at such a distance that the scent can be easily and effectively enjoyed and make sure your burner is securely placed on a heat proof surface**

What are Ubique Botanical Perfumes?

Welcome to Pure Perfume

Ubique is Latin for "everywhere", and refers to Omnipresence, the property of being present everywhere.

u-bi-que [oo-bee-kwe; English] adverb, Latin, "Everywhere".

Ubique Botanical Perfumes contain concentrated botanicals. Plant, flower, wood oils, absolutes, tinctures, and concretes are used and may cause an allergic reaction if you have an allergy to these substances. It is always best to begin your fragrant Ubique journey with a sample before purchasing a larger size, but don't wait too long...these are limited creations and they sell out quickly!

• We do not accept returns on perfumes, personal care items, or sale items. Please purchase and try sample sizes before purchasing larger sizes. Thank you!

Botanical Perfume FAQ's

• Keep products in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
• Avoid using near the eyes or other sensitive areas
• Do not take internally
• Keep out of reach of children and pets
• Our products are 100% free of synthetic ingredients.
• All base products used are USDA Certified Organic and also are Non-GMO

As this is pure perfume, only a drop or two is needed. The organic botanical alcohol is NOT drying like the alcohol used in mass marketed perfumes. The EDP's (Eau de Parfum) come in convenient spray bottles.

Mine Rough Stones and Crystals

Mine rough stones are those we procure directly from a mine instead of a mass dealer. These stones are fresh from the earth and have not been previously sold. We prefer mine rough stones as the vibrational qualities are HIGH.

One should not expect perfection when purchasing from ANY dealer unless the stone has been cut and polished and is listed as "perfect".

If perfection is desired, please only purchase cut and polished "perfect" stones.

Mine rough stones may have dents, dings, etc. We photograph each stone and describe what we see. We do not sell that which is not of high vibrational quality and authentic.

Lay Away, Holds, and Reserves

We are happy to reserve items that are considered SOLD to you as reserves and are "promises to purchase" .

The maximum hold time is 14 days. The items are considered SOLD to you, awaiting your actual purchase.

In order to reserve an item, one should use the 'Message Cam’ link on the item page, with your request to reserve the item, including the date you plan to purchase it (within the 14 day hold period).

If one fails to purchase the item (s) by the date agreed upon, any future requested reserves will require a non-refundable deposit.

Gift wrapping and packaging

Many items are gift wrapped with the exception of very large items, incense and other small items. By checking the “gift order” box, you are only ensuring a receipt will not be enclosed in the package.
